Eucharistic Ministers
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve the Eucharistic Life of the Christian community. They are appointed by the pastor, with the permission of the bishop, to assist the ordinary ministers (bishop, priest, deacon) in sharing the Eucharistic Body and Blood of Christ with members of the community for which they are commissioned. Eucharistic ministers may be entrusted with the ministry of taking the sacrament to the sick and absent members who are at home or in a health care facility. Readers
The role of the Reader is to proclaim God’s word to the congregation in such a way as to impart meaning and understanding. This requires an effort to first determine the intent of the scripture and then practice to provide a proper presentation. Workbooks are provided to assist with the preparation. The Reader may also be asked to carry the book of God’s word into the sanctuary as part of the opening procession of the Mass. Readers also offer opening comments and greetings and introduce the celebrant. To inquire about this ministry, please contact the parish office.
Altar Servers
Altar servers from the faithful youth and adults who display a desire to participate in an intimate way during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the Mass and other liturgies throughout the year. Training will be provided. Ushers/Greeters
Ushers are Ministers of Hospitality who welcome people when they arrive and are attentive to the needs of children, the elderly and those with special needs. They are men and women who provide assistance to help ensure that everyone can participate in the liturgy with a minimum of distraction. They also take up the collection, arrange for the gifts to the taken at the Offertory Procession, distribute bulletins and ensure that the lines to Communion flow with ease. Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry is an organized response to the needs of people who are grieving the death of a significant loved one. The purpose of the ministry is to respond as a parish to the needs of a grieving family at the time of death and the time after. Bereavement Ministry members visit and have a prayer service at the funeral home. The Rosary is recited in Church before the Funeral Mass and members attend the Mass. Christian Mothers and Women’s Guild
St. Matthew's Christian Mothers and Women’s Guild, members of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, is an organization consisting of all Christian Women, married, widowed or unmarried. While their purpose is to support one another through their actions and prayers, they take on many leadership roles for the good of the parish. Through their various fundraisers, they are able to provide financial assistance to cover many projects not covered by the budget. Generally, they meet the first Tuesday of the month. Ladies of Charity
Following the Vincentian spirit of St. Vincent DePaul, St. Louise De Marillac and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, our local Ladies of Charity Association - which is part of the Diocesan and National Association -- serve the poor, needy, marginalized, sick and aged. They provide spiritual and corporal services both parochially and to the community at-large, with the virtues of humility, simplicity and charity. Our Ladies take the Eucharist to the home bound, visit and send cards to the sick and shut-ins of the parish. Interested women with servant hearts are always welcome to join us for our monthly meetings to see if this organization might be a good fit for you.

Respect Life Committee
The Respect Life Committee Mission is to educate parishioners on Catholic teachings on pro-life and family issues and encourage faithful social responsibility. We also support local crisis pregnancy centers and other pro-life organizations. We participate in pro-life activities at local, county, and national levels. Anyone with a commitment to witness to Life from conception to natural death is welcome to join. Contact the parish office for more information.
St. Vincent de Paul
A Catholic lay organization inspired by the Gospels, this organization serves the poorest of the poor responding in a confidential manner to a person’s call for assistance. The Society leads women and men to spiritual growth through person-to-person service, assistance with necessary home items, counseling, and some bill payments. New members are always welcome to help serve those in need. Please contact the parish office to become a member of this ministry.
Men’s Club
Social organization that meets on the first Monday of each month at 8:00PM. The Men’s Club is the “muscle” of the parish and is tasked with setting up for Parish events. The Men’s Club sponsors Coffee & Donut Sunday’s bi-monthly and a yearly Night at the Races in January as well as other acts of stewardship in and outside of the parish. New members always welcome. Church Cleaning
Volunteers are always needed to help with cleaning the churches. Current cleaning helpers meet at the church on a particular morning and the more volunteers; the faster the work is done. If you are interested in helping, call the parish office for more information.
Church Environment Decorating Committee:
The committee is responsible for decorating the church following the liturgical cycle of the church with flowers, candles, fabrics and decorations. At various times of the year (Holy Week, Easter, Advent, and Christmas) we ask volunteers to assist in enhancing our worship areas. There are no special talents needed to join the committee just the gift of time. Call the parish office if interested to lend a hand.
Money Counters
Each week, a group of parish volunteers assemble to count the donations placed in the weekend's collections and prepare them for deposit. To get involved, please contact the parish office.
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee helps raise money for the church by way of various fundraising events throughtout the year. We are always looking for new members that have eneryg, new ideas and want to help out the team with the effort.
